Special Issue:The 16th United Nations Regional Cartographic Conference for Asia and the Pacific(The 16th UNRCC-AP)

Abstract

The United Nations Regional Cartographic Conference for Asia and the Pacific (UNRCC-AP) was established based on a recommendation by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. This conference, starting in 1955, aimed at encouraging the further development of each country, and has greatly contributed to the preparation of geographic information in the world.
The 16th UNRCC-AP was held in Okinawa, Japan in August 2003. GSI and the National Organizing Committee prepared for the conference five country reports to the United Nations. This special issue introduces these country reports:
